Harry smith is an emerging filmmaker from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, working primarily in psychological horror and drama. Influenced by Ari Aster and Stanley Kubrick, his work focuses on character, atmosphere and restrained storytelling, often exploring themes of memory, identity and strained relationships. His scripts tend to place ordinary people in uncomfortable or heightened situations to reflect real emotional experiences. Projects such as 'Lunar Lounge' and 'Under the Mirrorball' demonstrate an interest in tension, subtle horror and simple but effective visual ideas, rather than relying on spectacle. He is particularly interested in how tone, pacing and performance shape and audience's response. His main focus is on directing and screenwriting, while remaining open to collaborative role within production and development environments. In the long term, he hopes to direct original feature films and continue developing a consistent and recognisable style, while gaining practical experience across different areas of filmmaking and storytelling practice in the future ahead. He is also interested in opportunities within writers' room and entry-level industry roles that allow him to learn from experienced filmmakers and understand professional workflows in real production settings. He aims to build a sustainable career through steady development and collaboration over time, while refining his voice, perspective and creative range further over time.
